Carlton Griggs New Jersey, Learning Skills in Both Professional and Personal Life

Carlton Griggs has had an interesting and diverse career, allowing him to build up skills in many different industries. He has had the chance to work as a customer sales representative at Fessenden Hall Inc., at teller at Commerce Bank, at tennis instructor with Haddon Heights Tennis Club, a warehouse associate at Ginsey, at part-time manager at GameStop, a landscape architect at Ray Down’s Complete Landscaping, and most recently as a manager trainee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where he has had the opportunity to apply his wealth of experience from the other roles. 

Carlton Griggs from NJ pursued sports from a young age, and always enjoyed playing tennis both as recreation and competitively. As a tennis player in his at college and high school, he won many awards for his achievements, which are listed as follows; All South Jersey from 1998 – 2001, TCC Royal Division - All Conference - 1st Team, Singles from 1998 – 2001, TCC Conference Singles Champion: 1998 – 2001, All Group Three Division: 1998 – 2001, State Tournament – Singles, Top 16: 2000 – 2001, All State NJ: 2000 – 2001, Overall Singles Record 3rd in the State, 141 – 16. At The College of New Jersey he was chosen as a starter for the varsity team,one of his most proud achievements. He managed also to turn his skills and love of the game into a profession when he became a tennis instructor at Haddon Heights Tennis Club for a few years. 

Being a fan of tennis, and also a skilled and talented player himself, Carlton Griggs was able to gain many things from the experience. All athletes will testify to the fact that there are many skills in sports that allow players to use in the outside world. Some of these sills are understanding the value of teamwork, having a competitive nature (which is especially good for careers in business and sales and other competitive industries), the ability to think clearly under pressure, being flexible and willing to learn new things, appreciation of discipline to achieve, strong work ethic, understanding the importance of preparation, seeks and loves a challenge, self-motivated to win, mentally robust, and understands the importance of time management. These skills can be developed through regular practice of sport, and are all things that employers love to see in a candidate when applying for a job.
